Final day of Swimsafe.

The children are feeling a little worn out after a very busy week of swimming. They managed to find the energy to have some kicking races.

I think the children are all becoming little fish. They are learning lots of new things and are having lots of fun.

Star of the Week for week 3.

Well done to Lucy Mclean-Bluck for being awarded the Star of the Week certificate. She received this for adding detail and "wow" words to her writing. Keep up the good work!

Showing aroha.

We have been learning about what aroha means and how we can show aroha towards people. Sebastian, Noah and John were showing aroha by sharing the Mobilo and caring about each other.

Maths fun!

Last week we were learning all about measurement.
To help us understand area we imagined that Baby Bear from the 3 Little Bears story was having a birthday party. He wanted to send out invitations on paper but he had a lot to say on them. We looked at 3 different shapes and sizes of paper and discussed which one had the biggest area to write on.

Mia chose the green one and said, "This one because it has the biggest space in it".

Next we talked about how every party needs a birthday cake! We pretended that some upturned containers were birthday cakes and discussed which one would need the most icing and why. We had lots of fun icing our pretend cakes with our delicious play dough icing!

Our first week in Room 26!
We have had a very exciting first week in Room 26. We have done some art, we have written some wonderful stories and have had fun doing lots of measurement for maths.
